Head of School Weekly update 27.5.22

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the last weekly update of the term. How time flies when we are having fun!

We would like to say thank you to Steph (our visitor) from the Dogs Trust. She has been delivering workshops across the school this week and it has been well received by teachers and pupils alike.  Since 2003, the Dogs Trust Education Team have been delivering educational programmes to young people and children all across the UK. The programme focusses primarily on two key themes: Responsible Dog Ownership and Safe Behaviour Around Dogs. Their goal is to reach a range of audiences in order to influence and motivate changes in human behaviour so that we see an improvement in overall dog welfare. Thank you for time.

We had a fire drill practise this week and I must say a huge well done to the children. They were fantastic… they kept calm, walked sensibly and got to our assembly point on the Downs very quickly. As you can appreciate, we must practise for a range of emergencies but I am always impressed with how the children deal with these situations. Great job!

We had a Platinum Jubilee Assembly on Monday to kick start our celebrations this week and they have been a real success! (Shame about the weather on Wednesday but we still manged to enjoy our picnic as a school community) The children have looked at different decades, music, artists and historical events… and some have even experienced a cream tea! The work produced has been of high standard and Miss Smith -our History lead- is keen to display some of the fantastic works in all forms next term. Thank you to her especially for organising this week, it has been engaging, fun and will be a wonderful memory in time to come!

In the midst of our celebrations, Year 4 have been working so hard with their singing… what a treat for you all who have bought tickets for the Summer Sing. I heard them practising and they really are doing well!

(You will be receiving a sports update letter today with information about PE days, Swimming and Sports Day! Thank you in advance for your support).

Finally, I would like to say have a lovely break. I very much look forward to welcoming you and the children back on Monday 6h June.

Please do check the bulletin for updates and please do continue to support us on Facebook.

Kind regards,

Miss N Baker
