Head’s weekly update 4.3.22

Good afternoon,

This week has been eventful. A highlight of the week has to be our celebrations of World Book Day. We chose the bedtime story theme and dressed in our pyjamas, thank you for supporting us and joining in. Our super potato competition was well received and so many of the children brought in their entries. It was such a challenge to judge because they were exceptional…but a well done to the 4 children who were selected ( raffle style) and received a book and a lolly pop! Lots of photos have been uploaded on to the school Facebook page.

The year 6 team have compiled a film of Blacklands and that too will be uploaded shortly to our Facebook page.

I have seen some amazing artwork across the school e.g. paper sculptures in year 1 (twisting, curling and folding to make a 3d sculpture); some beautiful designs in year 3 for some silk artwork and in year 4 I have been excited by plans to make a pop up book.

EYFS enjoyed mixing a pancake, cooking a pancake and flipping a pancake… AND OF COURSE EATING A PANCAKE!

Good bye Miss David…

We are sad that Miss David is leaving us today but equally happy for her as she approaches a new journey in her career. I hope you will join me in thanking her for being an amazing member of the teaching team, equally being positive, enthusiastic and dedicated in everything that she contributed to. I wish her the very best and hope she keeps in touch to let us know how she is doing. Thank you!

As you are aware, we are pleased to announce that we will be holding parents evening this month- please refer to the letter/ bulletin for more information about this.

Have a very lovely weekend,

Kind regards,

Miss Baker
