Head of School weekly update 7.1.22

Welcome back and a very Happy New Year to you all,

I trust you were able to relax and recharge for the new year and Term 3 over the festive period!

I am delighted to report that the children have been remarkable on return. Smiling faces and lots of hard work has been a theme and when celebrating Kings and Queens during assembly this afternoon it was evident that the children have been excellent learners. It is always fantastic to hear when children have tried their best, made progress and or improved their attitudes to learning. Well done to the first Kings and Queens of the year!

The teachers were very busy on Tuesday after school. Mr Bramley who is the leader of Computing (and EYFS class teacher) organised some excellent teacher training. The teachers worked hard on enhancing their skills of computing and were learning new and improved elements of Purple Mash (Computing resource and our home learning platform). The platform itself has not changed but as a teacher it has new and exciting features to support assessment and some new ideas on how to plan and teach computing skills.

Above you can see how Mr Bramley’s class have settled are engaged with their learning. Early Years looks like fun!

We are very excited that we are able to offer some tutoring before and after school to Year 6 children. I am aware that parents of Year 6 have been contacted about this and it such great news. The children are looking forward to starting this opportunity next week. If you do have any questions about the school led tutoring please email the school office and someone will be in touch to answer your questions.

As always thank you for your continued support.

Stay safe and have a lovely weekend.

Miss N Baker
