Head of School weekly update 26.11.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to this weeks update. The children at King Offa have been busy and working hard as always. Year 1 have been especially busy at combining their Science and English lessons this week. The children have been learning to recognise the differences between deciduous and evergreen trees.  They have been observing and describing weather associated with the seasons and writing explanations and descriptions in their English. Please see some lovely photos above.

I have had a lovely time hearing about the reasons why the pupils have been awarded with Kings and Queens certificates this week. It is amazing to hear how many super role models we have across the school.  Well done and keep it up!

Please take a moment to read the communications from the Local Authority (East Sussex County Council) and our CEO Mr McCarthy. Although we are not inviting audiences to any of our Christmas  events, I wish to reassure you that we will be filming as much as possible to ensure that you see your children taking part in the Christmas festivities. I know this is disappointing for many of you but we feel it is our duty to do all we can to reduce the spread of the virus. I will communicate further next week to let you know of the arrangements as we still plan to go ahead with our Nativity, church service and Carol concert but instead of having a live audience we will film the events so you do not miss out. This does mean that the Bexhill Schools’ Christmas Concert at the De La Warr, Stickman and Rocksteady concerts will be cancelled but please know I am going to send further information about these next week.

As always, thank you for your understanding and support.

Have a restful weekend,

Miss Baker
