Head of School weekly update 24.9.21
Welcome to this week’s update.
This week has been another very positive week here at King Offa. The children have been working hard and it is always such a proud moment when visitors come to the school and are blown away with the children’s positive learning behaviours, their enthusiasm to lessons and how well they move safely around the school. The teachers and TA’s are so very proud of each and every pupil. Our four key values, as you know, are Knowledge Safety Health and Equality and these have been celebrated in our weekly Kings and Queens assembly. It is fantastic to hear how well the children are doing but also how they are continuing to excel with their learning, attitude and behaviour. Well done.
The year 6 teachers have had such a challenging task this term as they have had to choose a small section of Ambassadors to help represent the school. Well done to those who have been successful, it is always tricky as every pupil who applied had shown potential to be amazing role models for the school. Please don’t worry if you weren’t selected, I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities in the near future to step up and take on some responsibilities.
Our front of house Ambassadors will have the opportunity to help out at our ‘Open Evenings’ for new parents to Reception and they will be sent a letter next week to invite them to the event. Our Open Evenings will be on Tuesday 12th October and Thursday 14th October. Please let friends and family know and encourage them to book a slot by calling the school office.
Year 2 have been busy and creative this week. They have been learning about cave people and exploring what their lives could have been like. In the photo above, the children are using water colours to express their own ideas about the topic. Good job Gandhi!
As you are aware, we have a book fair next week. We are so excited to have this back once again. We are running it slightly differently to usual but all children will get an opportunity to have a look at and buy books. We have some amazing volunteers who will help this to run smoothly… thank you to Mrs King and Mrs Luck for helping out too!
I would like to end the update by sending our very best wishes to Miss Thornborough who will be starting her maternity leave from today. Thank you for your amazing contributions this term… Good luck, we hope you mange to relax before baby arrives… enjoy!
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss N Baker
