Head of School update 16.7.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the final Head of School update this academic year.

The school has been particularly busy and enjoyable this week. We have had lots of classes take part in Sports Day and I hope you have found time to have a look at some snaps of the children doing an amazing job. They have been excellent at participating and trying their very best. Year 1 will aim to have theirs next week, fingers crossed that the weather holds out. I know that they will also be enjoying their Teddy Bears Picnic.

Sadly for us, Miss Malone will be leaving us at the end of term as she will be moving out of the area; she has secured a fantastic position as Head of Year 1 at a school near to her new home. I would like to take this opportunity to say an extra special thank you to Miss Malone, she has been an asset to the King Offa team and although I bring bitter sweet news, I wanted to wish her the very best.  We will miss her!

Not only have we had sports, we have had music… Seb Leslie (Band leader) and his ‘Rocksteady’ crew took to the stage and we thoroughly enjoyed the performances.  Y2-Y5 pupils performed to their own Phases bubbles ( to enjoy safely) and were just incredible. The audience was buzzing as we rocked along to the songs. Each Phase only heard one song but they were so good, it really didn’t matter! Wow, we have certainly got talent at KOPA!

The excitement continued with potion making, Quidditch, herbal studies and broomstick flying when Year 6 classrooms magically turned into Hogwarts. A special thank you to the Year 6 team and Mrs King and a very special thank you to Mrs Courtnell’s brother , David Cobb, who delighted (or scared) the children with his appearance as Professor Snape. Very realistic for sure! The children had a fabulous time.

In addition, all of the children met their new class teacher and visited their new classroom today. It was an extremely exciting event and the children had a great morning. Hopefully they will be excited to share their news with you.

Reports will go out today and as always if there is anything you are unsure of, please let the office team know and we will endeavour for the right person to get in touch with you. I hope you appreciate that the last week of term is always a busy one but we will always try our best to respond as quickly as we can.

Finally, thank you to all parents and carers for your amazing cooperation and understanding throughout this somewhat turbulent year. I do appreciate the support.

Have a fantastic weekend, and have a brilliant summer (Please remember Wednesday is our last school day for pupils)

Stay safe and take care.

(See you all on Monday 6th September!)

Kind regards,

Miss N Baker
