Head of School Update 7.5.21
We have had a very busy week here at King Offa and I must say how impressed I have been with the quality of work that I have been seeing. I’d better order some more golden stickers as I am having so many visits with such lovely work to praise. I have seen some particularly great writing in Key stage 2. Lots of fantastic story writing from Year 3, 4, and 5 classes especially.
We have been able to take advantage of the nice weather and have opened the school field for some playtimes and learning time. The picture above was sent to me by Mrs Smith who snapped this wonderful moment when her class went to the field for break. She was overcome with the happiness and laughter and I’m sure you’ll agree, captured the moment beautifully.
Mr Smith, our site manager, has been working very hard to maintain the swimming pool. It is looking rather sparkly and should be ready for action in term 6. Details will be communicated as soon as we have confirmed our swimming teacher and lifeguards and that the set up of swimming is safe and inline with any guidance given by the DFE (Department for Education)
Pupils have been enjoying their music lessons that are provided by East Sussex Music Schools. It is a real pleasure to welcome the teachers back into school and is even more rewarding to hear and see the children taking part in music once more. I would like to welcome Rachel and Megan to King Offa as new members of the team.
Beach school is back! Miss Andrews cannot wait to start taking classes to the beach and I believe Year 5 is next week! Let’s hope the weather is kind to them.
We are very busy next week interviewing candidates for the Early Years Leader role for September, we are very excited and will share details as soon as we can.
Have a lovely weekend,
