Head of School Update – 18th December 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to this week’s update.

Thank you to the children pictured, they have decided, along with their families, to celebrate Christmas in a more sustainable way this year, as the local David Wilson Homes company has donated 24 replantable Christmas tree saplings to King Offa Primary Academy. The pupils were able to take home their very own ‘kidmas tree’ to plant where it will grow and can be enjoyed for years to come. A special thank you to Mrs Doherty for organising this so well!

The children have continued to work hard; Mr Tim McCarthy visited in the week and was impressed by the hard working environment. He was delighted to see so many smiling faces (from a distance of course).

Christmas and traditions from around the world has been the theme this week at King Offa, the children have enjoyed researching different countries and I’m sure they will be excited to show you their work and share their keepsakes with you. We have had a lovely Christmas lunch within our phases and I enjoyed seeing the array of Christmas outfits!

I was delighted to give out lots of awards today in our virtual assembly; well done to those children who received Certificates of Merit, Raffle prizes and Star Reader achievements and a very big well done to all of our pupils at King Offa, keep up the fantastic work!

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas; I do hope that the New Year is a brighter one for us all.

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement and gratitude.

I look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 5th January 2021. Enjoy your family time and please keep safe!

Kind regards,

Miss N Baker
