Head of School Update – 27th November 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to this week’s update.

We have been very excited this week, we have launched ‘Times Tables Rockstars’ which is a maths initiative to support the learning, practise and recall of multiplication facts in a fun way! Mrs Osman launched it during our Wednesday staff meeting and it has literally rocketed excitement across the school. Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practised every third week or so. There is also opportunity for all pupils to access the games and challenges at home!

As shown in the photo above, Year 1 have been on an Autumnal walk, they found some interesting leaves of all shapes, sizes and colours and carefully identified some key features of the season.

December is very close and Christmas is looking a little different for us all. I would like to reassure you that although we are not having Nativity performances and Christmas Carol Services (that we so enjoy around this time of year) we will be celebrating in style. We are excited to say that our links with Bexhill College continue and they will be performing a free Christmas production for us via live stream. In addition to this please look at the bulletin for more details about the festivities; we will be learning about different traditions around the world and making a special keepsake to take home, not forgetting Christmas lunch and Christmas jumper day on the 18th December, so still lots to look forward to!

Congratulations to our Kings and Queens, I hope you enjoy receiving your personal text message to let you know if it is your child!

As always, please do take a look at the weekly bulletin for any updates and messages, it is extremely informative!

Have a peaceful weekend.

Kind regards,

Miss N Baker
