Head of School Update – 20th November 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to this week’s update.

We have been busy taking part in Anti-bullying week, it was certainly a sea of blue today… well done to those of you who wore a little or a lot of blue!

This year’s theme is ‘United’ and the children at King Offa have been learning and taking part in discussions, assemblies and tasks including a poster competition, to celebrate and support ‘Anti-bullying’. Year 3 have been making biscuits and giving them to others who they would not usually play with as a kind gesture and to unite as a class.

This year, more than ever, we’ve witnessed the positive power that society can have when we come together to tackle a common challenge.

Anti-Bullying Week is no different. Bullying has a long lasting effect on those who experience and witness it. But by channelling our collective power, through shared efforts and shared ambitions, we can reduce bullying together. From parents and carers, to teachers and politicians, to children and young people, we all have a part to play in coming together to make a difference.

We’re all a piece in the puzzle, and together, we’re united against bullying.

Alongside this, the teachers have been busy enhancing their own knowledge about maths. We’ve been looking closely at Maths Mastery and Mrs Osman, Miss Langton and Miss Smith have attended their first Maths Mastery forum to help guide us on our journey.

Please do take a look at the weekly bulletin for any updates and messages.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Miss N Baker
