Head of School Update – 16th October 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am always very proud of every child, every single day and I would like to say well done to the pupils of King Offa Primary Academy. The children are steadily making progress and working towards our four values of Knowledge, Health, Safety and Equality that are consistently being met through daily opportunities. Pictured today are children in year six enjoying a PE lesson with Mrs Harman in the autumn sunshine.

Teachers have been working hard on designing ‘Paragon Planners’ that will be sent home at the end of this term. Their purpose is to prepare, pre teach and support pupils and parents with the following terms Paragon curriculum content. You will find the Paragon unit’s key question, key learning and key vocabulary, which you can discuss with your child. There will be some additional websites to explore and a project for home learning. We are laminating the Paragon Planners so they can support learning throughout the term. We hope that you will find them useful.

We strive to ensure that our curriculum remains creative, fun and stimulating and this will be a great way to link home and school consistently.  Our pupils have engaged so well since returning to school and we are so proud of each of them.

Well -being sessions have been taking place as we feel that with the current situation they have been a vital requirement. This continues to be explored with regular circle times and PSHE sessions. Not only do we have mental first aiders for staff and pupils but an EMHP (Educational Mental Health Practitioner) to support us with the increasing challenges that our pupils have faced and continue to face throughout these unprecedented times.

Thank you, as always for your continued support.

Have a great weekend.

Kind regards,

Miss N Baker (Head of School)
