Head of School Update 3.7.2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to be writing to you now as permanent Head of School, and look forward to working with you all in this new capacity. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support in my time as Deputy Head and feel very excited about the positive challenges ahead.
Whilst writing, I wanted to make a special thank you to Mr Laker for his wonderful and valued contribution to the school as a whole and to my personal development from Deputy Head to Head of School. He will be deeply missed by you all, I know, but together we can build on these very strong foundations to make King Offa the best possible learning environment it can be for your children. We wish Mr Laker all the very best in his new role as Head of School at Oakwood Primary Academy, one of our sister schools, and we are delighted that we will still have the opportunity to keep in touch and work with Mr Laker in the future.
I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that next Friday, 10th July, reports for pupils will be emailed out to you. Alongside this, there will be a copy of the class lists so you and your child will find out which teacher and class they will be in for the next academic year. A welcome letter from your child’s new teacher will also be attached to your email. Pupils will be encouraged to find out about their famous person’s class name in which we hope to share findings and research in September.
I hope that parents of ‘bubble’ groups are enjoying their weekly updates so far! I know that the pupils have been working hard and displaying exceptional learning behaviours around the school, well done! A big thank you to all of you that have returned library books and collected home learning packs!
In the picture you can see the children in Year 1 experimenting with the ‘Dabbing’ method to create an Aboriginal art piece with a lizard, fantastic!
Have a great weekend,
Miss N Baker
