Acting Head of School update 26.6.20
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another busy week; we have welcomed some more pupils back to school and can safely say that all of our teachers are now responsible for leading a ‘bubble’. Well done for a smooth start! Thank you to all parents and carers who have been communicating with us throughout, we appreciate your understanding during these unusual circumstances. Unfortunately, the ‘bubbles’ are now locked and we will not be able to add more pupils to these now. I appreciate it has been a challenging time in terms of making the right decisions for you and your families.
Thank you to those of you who came to collect learning packs and return library books on Friday! Mrs Luck sends her personal thanks as she is busy preparing the library, ready for September. It really does take a lot of hard work and organisation so many thanks to her too! The next date for the last collection of learning packs is Friday 3rd July ( parents will be emailed details nearer the time)
I am so pleased to say that there is a calm and positive atmosphere here at school, a little different and a little quieter than normal but a lovely relaxed atmosphere! However I really can’t wait to be able to welcome you all back in the near future!
This week, I have seen some super number work in Reception and amazing phonics in year 1 ( in which some golden stickers had to be given out for fantastic ea words and sentences- great job!) The year 6 pupils have had some adorable letters and thank you cards from the vulnerable people they had written to last week. The letters from the children really did put a smile on the faces of some of the most at risk relatives and staff members who have been shielding from the potentially dangerous virus; a big well done to those pupils and a big thank you to Mrs Meader and Miss Langton for organising this! Not only have they been writing letters, they have been preparing for Secondary school and ‘tying’ ties. These three pupils have mastered the skill and beat me in a race… it has been a while since I was at Secondary school!
The other ‘bubbles’ within the school have been sensibly moving around the school and adhering to our new routines and rules, well done! I have seen such great relationships being built and a real sense of helping and supporting each other.
From today, parents who have children at school within a bubble will receive an update email from the teacher leading it; we will aim to do this on a weekly basis to keep you informed of what your child has been learning!
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss N Baker
