Head of School Update – Friday 17th January 2020

Welcome to this week’s Weekly Update!

This week has been as busy as always with the added excitement of a visit from Ofsted on Wednesday and Thursday, for our full, Section 5 inspection! We were pleased to be able to welcome Mr Dylan Davies, HMI from Ofsted on Wednesday, along with his team of inspectors, who carried out a two-day inspection of the school, under Ofsted’s new framework. Mr Davies and his team spent time completing lesson visits, talking to parents and to children about their books and their learning. He also met with teachers, to talk about the subjects we teach in school, myself, other leaders in school and our LAB members. The final report will be shared once Ofsted have signed this off and I look forward to sharing this with you.

It just wasn’t possible to take School Photographs during this time, so apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. These will be rescheduled for the near future.

Congratulations to the King Offa Football Team who enjoyed a very comfortable 8-0 win over Guestling Bradshaw in the Collins Cup on Thursday. This ‘knock-out’ win takes us through to the next round and we will let you know our opponents when the draw is made.

Thank you if you purchased a book, equipment or stationery from our Book Fair. We raised over £100 which will be used to purchase new books for the school. Thank you to Mrs Timms and Mrs Valentine, for giving up their time to man the Book Fair for us and who experienced a whole host of weathers whilst doing so.
