Head of School Update – Friday 10th January 2020

A Happy New Year to all of our pupils and their families. Welcome back to King Offa in 2020 and this, the first update of a new year and a new decade!

Children have returned to school well and have been extremely settled, finding out about their new learning and projects for the forthcoming term. Across the week, we have explored the concept of ‘Resolutions’ and what it means to set challenges, goals and targets for the year ahead. It’s been great to talk to the children about their ambitions for the year ahead, including, ‘Earning my pen license’, ‘Improving my English work’, ‘Trying out new dance moves’ and ‘Completing more exercise’. During today’s assembly, we spoke about the challenges around keeping to our resolutions, such as motivation, resilience and determination. We have seen many of these skills already, with children being awarded King and Queen certificates for ‘not giving up’ when the Maths challenges became harder and demonstrating real friendship towards others – a great start to the year!

We have shared some photographs from this afternoon, so please do take a look at our Facebook page to see what we have been up to!
