Head of School Update – Friday 6th December 2019
Welcome to this week’s Weekly Update!
I’d like to start by saying ‘Well done’ to all of our Year 6 pupils who attended and performed in last night’s (Thursday) ‘Christmas Big Sing’. Alongside pupils from Little Common and Pebsham schools, our fabulous Year 6’s sang a collection of modern favourites and traditional classics, alongside the Hastings Area Youth Symphony Orchestra (HAYSO) to a packed-out De La Warr Pavilion audience, and did so with great enthusiasm, confidence and enjoyment. It was an incredible evening and, for many, this was the first time performing to such a large and live audience and I am very proud of all the pupils who participated in the event.
Pupils in Year 2 are looking forward to next week’s visit to Bodiam Castle. In Paragon, pupils have been attempting to answer the essential question – ‘How Do People Help Their Communities?’ During the visit, pupils will learn about a local castle and find out about the people who would live there. I look forward to sharing more details about their visit, next week. As part of this term’s Paragon Project, pupils were encouraged to design and make their own castle, including as many of the castle features as they could. Our featured image this week, shows some of our Year 2 pupils with their castles. Well done to all of our pupils who have completed a Paragon Project this term.

Refreshments will be served from the canteen in the Key Stage 2 Hall, so I do hope you will join us. Pupils in Year 4 have been invited of be part of this year’s Christmas Performance, hosted by sixth-form students at Bexhill College, and are looking forward to being part of the audience on Thursday 12th December.
