Head of School Update – Friday 29th November 2019
Welcome to this week’s Weekly Update.
It’s been so lovely to have all of the pupils back at King Offa, following the recent school closure.
I hope you have been able to see some photographs from across the week. We hope to be able to add some others to our Facebook page, later today. Although there have been some obvious differences and changes, it has felt very settled with a positive vibe around the school. We held our Kings and Queens assembly today (well, two of them in a change to our tradition). I am hopeful that some of the scaffolding work can be taken down shortly, as some of the required assessments have been completed.
Well done to all of our Assembly winners this week:

Year R Darling Class – Freddie CS. (Knowledge)

Well done to William H. in Year 3 and Duane P. in Year 6 who were winners of this week’s Attendance Raffle.
We have rescheduled Parents’ Evening for Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th December, enabling you to have met with your child’s class teacher before the end of this term. I appreciate that this is short notice but I do hope that you will be able to make an appointment to meet with your child’s class teacher. A letter will go out later today with details about how to make an appointment.
I am also delighted to be able to share our Christmas schedule for this year. Despite a smaller amount of space within the hall and a shorter rehearsal window, we are confident that we can run our planned programmed of performances, as normal. All of the key dates and times are outlined on this week’s bulletin – please take a look – and we will write to you shortly, with further details about each of these events. Next week, our Year 6 pupils will b performing in the ‘Christmas Big Sing’ at the De La Warr Pavilion, and I know that they will represent the school well.
I would just like to take the time to thank you for your continued support. Despite some physical challenges to our building and a potentially unsettling return to school, I have enjoyed talking with parents before and after school – you have been incredibly supportive and I am very grateful for this. Your children have been an absolute credit this week – the way they have moved around school has been safe, smart and sensible. I have passed on my ‘Well done’ to all of them.
I wish you all a very happy weekend and I look forward to seeing all of the pupils on Monday.
