Head of School Update – Friday 3rd May 2019

Welcome to this week’s update!

There have been many fantastic learning experiences throughout the school this week.

Our amazing chicks are growing well and are extremely healthy. They are being well looked after by the pupils in Year 2 and they have also acquired some unusual ‘egg’ themed names, such as ‘Benedict’ and ‘Sunny’. They all have some fantastic feathers!

Our pupils in Reception had a fantastic ‘Beach School’ day, yesterday. The weather held off and the children had great fun finding special things on the beach, learning how to make kites, decorating ‘secret-stones’ and learning how to keep safe around the water. Thank you to all of the adults and parents who helped make the walk to the beach so successful.

In Year 4, pupils have enjoyed working on their ‘Healthy Schools’ project. They have learned about healthier food choices and have been researching, tasting, designing and making sandwiches and fillings…and had fun doing so, too!

Well done to all of our Kings and Queens! This week’s list of winners are:

YR – Beau A-H and Mia-Rose M

Y1 – Elijah B and Xanthe P

Y2 – Bobby M and Hayden J

Y3 – Megan V, Zain W and Chloe C

Y4 – Jodie J and Maxwell L

Y5 – Jams B and Isabelle S

Y6 – Taitus G and Sara T

In assembly today we held our first ‘Attendance Raffle’ of Term 5. Last week, 388 pupils were every single day and were entered into the raffle draw. At random, Dexter B in Year 1 was chosen as this week’s winner and collected something special from the prize table.

Our ‘Attendance Challenge’ also left the start-line this week! In Key Stage 1, YR Blue Class cruised into the lead and collected 10 points with an attendance of 99.1%. In Key Stage 2, Y5 Falcons are top of the leader-board after picking up 10 points for an attendance of 99.2% Well done to Blue Class and Falcons Class.

Just to remind you of the Bank Holiday weekend meaning that school is closed to pupils on Monday 6th May. I look forward to welcoming you back to a four-day week on Tuesday 7th May.

Enjoy the weekend!
