Head of School Update – Friday 5th April 2019

Welcome to this week’s update and the last of this term!

Thank you to those of you who have joined us for Paragon events this week. I hope you have enjoyed sharing in the learning and excitement of the past term. It’s always a pleasure to welcome you into school and I know that the children have appreciated your attendance at the events this week. It has rounded off what has been an excellent term and, as always, I’m grateful for the support you have provided to the school.

We had a very busy and exciting final assembly of the term. Today, we awarded our White Certificates of Merit to children across the school. Each class teacher has awarded a certificate to two pupils in their class, for outstanding achievement, effort and determination. This term’s winners are listed below:

Year 3 – Ciaran L
Year 4 – Cameron B
Year 5 – Cameron K, Maddison G, Kai L, Summer H and Gracie-Marie J
Year 6 – Logan A, Frank C and Eleanor L

Well done to these 10 children! Their certificates will take pride of place in the school Library. The children also receive a special Word Millionaire badge.

Today we say ‘Goodbye’ to Mrs Burrows and Miss Kirk. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their support of Year 1 Orange and Year 3 Swallows and I know that the children in these classes will miss them greatly. I’m delighted to announce that Miss Catriona Malone will be joining the teaching staff in Term 5.

Just to remind you that the school is closed on Monday 22nd April, as this is Easter Monday. School reopens to all pupils on Tuesday 23rd April.

This is a perfect opportunity to thank my whole staff team for their unconditional effort and commitment across the past term. I hope everyone in the community has a fabulous holiday and I look forward to welcoming you back to King Offa in Term 5.
