Head of School Update – Friday 11th January 2019
Welcome back to Term 3 at King Offa and a very Happy New Year to all of our pupils and their families. I hope you had an enjoyable festive period.
Children have returned to school highly motivated and ready for the new term and to get back into routines. Many have come back to school with new ‘resolutions’ and ideas about activities and goals that they are looking to try out and achieve this year. In class, children are finding out about their new learning journeys for this term and have experienced some super ‘Wow’ moments already.
You will be aware that Harrisons are now providing school meals at King Offa and to all of the schools within Aurora Academies Trust. It’s been a positive week with children enjoying the new menu and healthy food choices on offer. Thank you for your feedback on this. Paul Mulvenny from Harrisons has been available to answer your questions. If you do have a question for him and his team, please let the School Office know and this can be forwarded on to him.
Next Wednesday 16th January, class photographs are being taken in school. Please can you ensure that all children are wearing the correct school uniform on this day. The class photograph of the year is a lovely memento and will be available to purchase. Our Book Fair commences on Monday 14th January. There are fantastic savings on books and stationery and we hope you will stop by to look at the books. Weather permitting, we will display the books on the main playground.
Thank you to all of you who gave donations at the end of the Christmas performances. We raised £122 and this was given to the Bexhill Foodbank. This was collected by Revd. Renie Durnell who joined us for today’s assembly.
Congratulations to all of our Kings and Queens who were awarded certificates in assembly today. Well done to Joshua F and Toby B in YR, Elijah B and Maizy W in Y1, Jessica BD and Joey T in Y2, Jack J, Mia F and Samantha S in Year 3, George BP and Olivia G in Y4, Aaron H and Jamie R in Y5 and Imogen W and Roxy-Leigh in Y6.
Have an enjoyable weekend!
Mr Ryan Laker
