Head of School Update – Friday 21st September 2018
The end of another week is finally upon us – this school year is already 13 days old! Well done to all of our Kings and Queens who collected certificates for their fantastic effort this week! Nominated by their teachers, there were great reasons for the awards including ‘excellent learning in Maths’ and ‘a great role-model to the whole class’.
Well done to our amazing Reception children. Our cohort of 60 have completed their first full week at King Offa and we are already beginning to see their wonderful personalities shine through.
Pupils in Year Five enjoyed their visit to Bexhill Museum on Thursday. As part of their Paragon question, ‘How Do We Recognise A Civilisation’, the pupils, armed with clipboards, pencils and questions, explored Ancient Egyptian artefacts, created sketches, solved hieroglyphic messages and designed their own Ancient Egyptian headdresses. The pupils also took the opportunity to look at the many other features of the museum.
I hope you have enjoyed the ‘Book Fair’ – it has been great to see so many of you there this week, enjoying the books and reading resources! Through your purchases, the school has been able to add an incredible £513 worth of books into the School Library – a total of 100 books! This is incredible and will make a huge difference to the choice and quantity of books and stories available to pupils each day! Thank you to all of our helpers who have given up their time to run the ‘Book Fair’ this week.
If you have a child who will be starting school in September 2019, or know of someone else that will, then I would like to invite you to our Open Morning, which takes place on Tuesday 6th November 2018, between 9.00 and 10.00am, and our Open Evening on Wednesday 7th November 2018, from 5.00 – 6.30pm. Please let friends and relatives know about our open events. Please contact the School Office if you require further information or to book an alternative visit to school.

Finally, may I take this opportunity to wish you all a very enjoyable weekend. We look forward to welcoming you to our ‘Meet-and-Greet’ afternoon on Tuesday 25th September 2018.
Thank you for your continued support of the school.
