Weekly Update – 22nd June 2018

This week has been as busy as always with the added excitement of a visit from Ofsted on Wednesday!

The majority of our year six pupils have spent the week in London on their residential trip along with Mrs Meader and Mr Laker. They’ve had a most wonderful time and experienced a whole range of exciting activities including climbing St Pauls, an evening spin on the London Eye and a trip to the theatre to see the Lion King. Mrs Meader has taken plenty of photos and we look forward to being able to share them with you next week.

Year four have had an exciting week of their own. On Wednesday they had the opportunity to take part in the ‘Big Summer Sing’ at the De La Warr. They performed brilliantly and were a real credit to themselves and King Offa. Huge thanks to Miss Langton and Miss David for helping the children reach such high standards. In assembly this morning we celebrated their excellence and they had the chance to perform to the whole school.

We were pleased to be able to welcome Bruce Waelend from Ofsted on Wednesday who carried out a one day inspection of the school. The majority of schools that have previously been judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted have a return visit within three years and this is why Bruce was with us this week. He spent time observing lessons, talking to parents, staff and children and speaking with myself and other leaders in the school. We are not allowed to share the outcome until Ofsted have signed it off but we are looking forward to being able to share the report when we receive it. Hopefully this will be within three week.

Enjoy the weekend,
