Weekly Update – 11th May 2018

It’s the end of another fantastic week at King Offa!

Yesterday, we welcomed Mr Tim McCarthy, CEO for AAT, to King Offa, who took a tour of the school. He was incredibly impressed with the quality of pupils’ work and their contributions in classes. The school environment was purposeful with classroom displays celebrating success and developing learning. In assembly today, I thanked the pupils and the staff for all of their hard work, to say ‘Well done’ and wanted to share this with you too!

Our pupils in Year 2 have been exemplary this week, as they have taken their end of Key Stage 1 statutory assessments. I have been into each of our three Year 2 classrooms, across the week, and seen nothing less than every child give their very best. They, along with the staff team in Year 2, have certainly earned themselves a restful weekend!

Well done to all of our Country Dancers who took part in the ‘May Day’ celebrations in Bexhill Old Town, over the Bank Holiday weekend. Twenty-two of our pupils, from Year 2 through to 5, took part in a collection of traditional dances around the ‘maypole’. They took part in a procession, along with the Mayor of Bexhill. Their behaviour was exceptional and the pupils, as always, were a real credit to the school.

Thank you for your co-operation in supporting the school with the flow of people into the school building. It has been far less-busier in the mornings, just in the last week, and this has had a positive impact on pupils coming into school.

There is lots to look forward to in the last weeks of term, including the ‘Travelling Farm’, who will be visiting our Reception classes, and our planned Paragon events. Look out for events in school and some virtual videos to be posted through our Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you!

Please check this week’s School Bulletin for information about forthcoming events and, as always, thank you for your continued support. Wishing you all a relaxing weekend!
