Weekly Update – 27th April 2018
It has been a very busy week in school, with many, many visitors celebrating the teaching and learning in classrooms. Pupils’ behaviour has been exceptional – comments such as ‘Pupils are a real credit to the school’ certainly supports that! I am very proud of all the pupils and the hard work they give to being the best they can be.
This week we welcomed six new Pekin ducklings into the world! Pupils in Year 2 have been carefully looking after the eggs as part of their Science learning for this term. Earlier in the week, the eggs began to hatch, causing great excitement throughout the school and I am delighted that all of the ducklings have now been moved to the brooder – we will be keeping a close eye on their progress over the next few days, before they are returned to a nearby farm in Sussex, where they will be free to roam and explore. Thank you to the ‘Incredible Egg’ company who have provided the incubators and the brooder. It’s been a fabulous experience so far…What a great way for the pupils to learn about new life!
Please join us for our ‘Spring Breakfast Special’, taking place on Thursday 3rd May 2018. This is open to all pupils and their families – pancakes will be on the menu with a special competition taking place too! Entrance is £1 per person. Further details are included on this week’s Bulletin.
We’ve welcomed some new members to the staff team – Mrs O’Donnell, Mrs Taylforth and Miss Henham – I am sure you will see them around the school in the next few weeks.
As always, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the school and to wish you all an enjoyable weekend.
