Weekly Update – 2nd March 2018

The weather has provided a few challenges this week but school has continued as normally as possible. Huge thanks to all the staff team for their efforts to keep school open. Mr Weller has gone above and beyond to make sure that paths are clear, the playground is safe and that the heating has stayed on.

World Book day was great fun as always. The children (and staff) looked amazing. Huge thanks to parents and carers who went to such lengths to support the day. The children at King Offa have a real love of reading and that is largely thanks to the excellent start they get in Reception and Key Stage One and then the way that accelerated reader is used as the children get older. This year we already have six children who have read more than one million words and there are plenty more who are very close to reaching this target.

Despite the weather, our Year Five pupils have had a great time at PGL and have taken part in a huge range of activities. We will gather the phots that were taken during the trip and share them next week. Thank you to the school staff who gave up their time to accompany the children and enable the trip to go ahead.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
