Weekly Update – 19th January 2018

Pictured this week are children from across the school who have been working really hard on their writing. I spent time in their classes and was really impressed with their enthusiasm and the progress they are making. Well done to them and their teachers!

Today the children in Reception classes and the Nursery had visitors from Bexhill Fire Station to talk to them about keeping safe. The children had the opportunity to try on the firefighters’ protective clothing, explore the inside of a fire engine and even had a go at squirting one of the fire engines hoses! As you can imagine there were many very excited children. Many thanks to the fire brigade for coming to visit.

A big thank you to everyone who purchased a book from this week’s book fair. The school earns commission on the money that is spent and we have used it to add new books to our school library. Mrs Luck, who runs the library, was helped by a group of children to choose a huge pile of new books that will be added to the library very soon. Many thanks to Mrs Valentine who ran the book fair for us.

On Monday 5th February there will be a free session running at school with information about how you can help to keep your child safe whilst they are using the internet. Staying up to date with the latest technology and the ways that children make use of it is always a challenge for parents so I’m sure that this will be a valuable opportunity. The session runs from 9:00-10:30am. If you’re interested, please speak to the school office as places are limited.

Enjoy the weekend,
