Weekly Update – 17th November 2017

This week, all children in school have been taking part in activities linked to national ‘Anti-Bullying Week’. This year’s theme is ‘All Different, All Equal’. Children learned about individual difference and how each of us has the right to deserve to be treated fairly and with respect. Across the school, children have been sharing their messages of kindness and friendship. Classes discussed some very emotive and thought-provoking themes – our Year 6 pupils took part in a discussion about the issues faced by the LGBT community in today’s society. All children have taken part in a poster competition to raise awareness of this year’s theme. There were some fantastic posters where children carefully thought about the important meanings behind them. Well done to Hallie (Year 2), Ben (Year 4), Luc (Year 5) and Jasmine (Year 6) who were winners of this year’s poster competition. The successful posters will be displayed around school.

Thank you for your support; a wave of blue coloured clothes showed how children were committed to ending bullying for good!

Our school football team have been in action this week. Yesterday afternoon (Thursday), the team enjoyed a thoroughly well-deserved 6-2 win, away to Guestling Bradshaw in the School’s Cup competition. The team were 2-1 down at half-time before scoring five second half goals in an emphatic win. Hurst Green or Catsfield await in the next round. Well done to everyone involved! Thank you to Mrs Harman and Mr Hill for their support.

Have an enjoyable weekend!
