Weekly Update – 13th October 2017

This week, the school has been right at the heart of the local community. We were very excited to welcome our friends from ‘Brighton and Hove Albion in the Community’ who, in partnership with Southern Water, delivered some lessons to our children in Key Stage One about the importance of water in everything that they do! The children learned some ‘true or false’ facts about water and had great fun doing so. ‘Gully’ the Seagull, the BHAFC mascot, popped in too to say ‘hello’. Children in Year Five have this week taken part in a project hosted by the De La Warr Pavillion. They learned about digital media and animation, whilst some children had fun with Science – they certainly look the part in their safety goggles.

Year Two had a fantastic day out at Paradise Park – a great time was had by all. Thank you to those parents who helped support the trip this week. Our Year Six Football team are, this afternoon, representing the school at the annual tournament at Glenleigh Park. We will update you with how they get on next week!

Finally, congratulations to our twelve ‘new’ School Ambassadors who were awarded their special red badges in assembly today. With such great role-models we’ve added some new responsibilities to an ever growing list. All of the children got to meet them in assembly and will see them around school over the coming weeks, supporting and setting a great example. Well done to you all!

Just to remind you that Paragon events are taking place next week for all year groups. We really hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you.

Enjoy the weekend,

Mr Ryan Laker
