Weekly Update – 6th October 2017

Wow what a day! It was an early start at King Offa as More Radio were broadcasting their breakfast show from the school hall accompanied by nearly one hundred children and their families. It really was a Breakfast Club special to remember and thanks must go to Miss Harrison and the breakfast club team for organising the event. I was very impressed to see our staff and children taking part in the interviews and activities laid on by More Radio including the quiz which King Offa won! This means that £1000 of computer equipment will be on its way to us. Great job King Offa and many thanks to More Radio.

The fun didn’t stop there for the day though. We had a phone call yesterday from a theatre company who had a spare slot this afternoon and offered to stage a production of Oliver Twist for the Key Stage Two children. We gratefully accepted and the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Thanks to all of you who attended parents evenings this week. I hope that you found the meetings useful. Teachers certainly find it helpful to have time with you at this point in the year so that they can check how the transition from the previous year has gone and find out anything else about the children in their classes that will help plan their learning for them. If you didn’t manage to get along to a meeting please speak to your child’s teacher and they’ll be happy to arrange another time.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
