Headteachers Weekly Update – 3rd March 2017

I hope you have had a chance to look at the photos we have posted on Facebook from today’s World Book Day. Thank you very much to all of you who helped with the children’s costumes. It’s been a really fun day in the school and helps to reinforce the importance of reading to the children. I’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the staff that made an effort in getting into character and planning book related activities for the day.

Thank you to everyone who came along to parents evenings this week. It’s really important that we get the chance to share information about your child with you. If you didn’t manage to make it to an appointment this week please speak to your child’s teacher and they will happily arrange a time when you can meet.

In assembly today we drew the winner of the parent survey competition and I’m pleased to say that Josh Valentine won the family ticket to Knockhatch. We received 175 surveys back and are very grateful for the time that people took to complete them. We will share the results shortly along with any changes that we will make to address any suggestions that were made. Thank you to everyone who wrote comments on the form. Myself and Mr Laker have read every comment and we will be sharing them with staff as well. It’s really useful to hear the things that we are doing well and areas that we can improve on.

Don’t forget to come along to the second Triple P parenting seminar next Wednesday at 9:00 in the training room. You don’t need to have attended the first session to come along on Wednesday when the focus will be on raising confident and happy children.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
