Headteachers Weekly Update – 30th September 2016

Another week has flown by and it’s been a pleasure to see all the children and staff working so hard in all classes in the school. I spent some time in Year Six this afternoon and was hugely impressed with the work they have been doing in their Paragon lessons. The children are learning about Ancient Egypt and have produced some amazing work. Their learning has involved elements of English, history, geography, art and science and it’s a real credit to their teachers that so much of the curriculum is being taught in such a creative way. Pictured are some images of the children working hard and some of the work they have done. I’m really looking forward to the Paragon events at the end of this term when the children can share their learning with you.

Next Friday afternoon we are looking forward to a visit from our local MP Huw Merriman. Mr Merriman contacted local schools to ask if he could visit them to get to know the issues that are important to teachers and local families. We plan to give him a tour of the school, the chance to meet some of the pupils and then to hear from staff about school life. If there is anything that you would like to share with Mr Merriman or a question you would like us to ask please speak to Mr Laker or myself on the door in the morning before school and we’ll take your questions/comments to him.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
