Headteachers Weekly Update – 6th May 2016

I would like to wish all the children in Year Six the very best of luck next week when they take their SAT tests. They have been working incredibly hard with the help and support of their teachers and I’m sure they will all do their best.

This morning I had the pleasure of spending tine in all our Key Stage One classes. The children were working hard in the maths or English lessons and it was a real pleasure to see them getting on so well. I was particularly impressed with the handwriting from our brilliant year one pupils.

As the weather is improving we are looking forward to using the school field for playtimes very soon. Last week a local tree surgeon kindly dropped off a huge pile of bark chippings that we will move up to Kingswood to begin creating our outside classroom. Mrs Andrews has also been working hard on developing outside areas to support children’s learning in science.

Finally well done to Year Four who visited Herstmonceux Science Centre yesterday. They returned full of amazing facts and buzzing about the experience they had. The visit centred around space exploration and there were many links with Tim Peake’s current mission. The children were a real credit to the school and behaved brilliantly.

Enjoy the weekend,
