Headteachers Weekly Update – 29th January 2016

Our maths day yesterday was the highlight of this week. Miss Suggitt and the rest of the staff did a fantastic job of organising a day of hands on, fun activities that helped the children develop their understanding and love of maths. The children all had the opportunity to work with classes and year groups that they normally don’t mix with and it was great to see the children getting on so well together. A big thank you to all the staff for such a great day. Pictured above is some of the work that our year six children have been doing in Maths. I’m sure like me you will be impressed with their level of understanding and hard work!

You should have received this week’s bulletin and a letter inviting you to attend the next Paragon events in the last week of this term. As part of the children’s PE curriculum all year groups have to learn about dance. Our PE subject leader, Miss Winchester, has cleverly linked the learning from PE with the themes of the Paragon topics. Our Paragon events will give the children the opportunity to show off what they have been learning to an audience. Our Foundation Stage children have been learning in a similar way and have also been working hard on a performance. Their efforts will be filmed and will be available to watch on our website in the last week of term.

Finally I wanted to let you know about a change with our partner, Mosaica Education UK, which has recently become part of the Pansophic Learning group. King Offa and our three other primary academies continue to be operated by Aurora Academies Trust so this won’t affect the running of these schools. However, you will notice the new Pansophic Learning UK logo being used on our letterheads etc. We look forward to building links with schools in the Pansophic international network.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
