Headteachers Weekly Update – 11th September 2015

It has been an amazing week at school. The transformation from building site to the bright, welcoming school we now have could not have been achieved without the hard work of the most wonderful staff team. Thank you to all of you. On the Monday before the children returned I really wasn’t at all sure that we would be ready to open but the transformation has been amazing!

Welcoming the children back has been a great pleasure for all of us. In our first assembly on Monday they were challenged to be ‘world champions’ and we looked at the achievements of Mo Farah to inspire us. The children have risen to the challenge and school has been buzzing with energy this week. It has been a great pleasure to welcome our new foundation stage children and they have settled brilliantly. The transition work that the staff team and the children’s families have done is really paying off and the children all appear relaxed, calm and enjoying school. We look forward to watching them learn and grow over their time at King Offa.

Next Friday we will be sending home a newsletter with the key dates for the year in it and our priorities for development. Last year was a very successful year for the school and we are looking forward to building on the success this year.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
