Headteachers Weekly Update – 3rd July 2015

Thank you to everyone who came and cheered the children on at sports day on Wednesday. It was a great event and very well attended by so many parents and carers. Thank you also to the parents who lent us gazebos so that we could provide shade on the field. We are very grateful for the support. Miss Perkins and the staff did a fabulous job organising the activities and making it fun but also having a competitive edge. Pictured are the brave competitors in one of our parent races!

It is very quiet in school today with most of the year sixes on their transition visit to Bexhill Academy. We will begin our own transition events here next week when we welcome the new reception children in for their first taster sessions. In the final full week of term children have the chance to spend time with their teachers for next year.

Today was the first rehearsal for our Paragon Spectacular that takes place at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne on Tuesday 14 July. The children are very excited about the opportunity to perform on stage and show off their learning from this year. We will be taking the children from key stage two over to Eastbourne on the afternoon of the 14th and hope to see you there for the performance in the evening. If you can’t make it to the show we have arranged for a coach to return children to school after the performance so they can be collected from school. The event will be filmed and a DVD will be available in early September for anyone who can’t make it on the night.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
