Head of School Weekly Update – Friday 27th February

Thank you to everyone who has completed a parent/carer survey and returned it to us. We will collate the results and share these with you by the end of this term. We will also set out what we plan to do to take on board any suggestions you have given us on ways to improve.

Our foundation stage children have had a very busy week this week. Their visit to the Post Office has been a great success and the arrival of Postman Pat on Thursday afternoon was a real treat! I have also been very impressed with the homework children in year four have been doing. I have seen some fantastic photos and writing about cooking that children have been doing at home as they find out more about life in Japan.

Next week will be another busy one that will be finished off with us celebrating world book day. We look forward to welcoming the children into school on that day dressed as their favourite book character. We know that many characters also appear on TV or in films and don’t mind if children wish to dress up as someone who appears in books and other places. Staff are already working on their costumes!

On Friday March 20th there will be the largest solar eclipse since 1999. It will take place between 8:45 and 9:30 in the morning. Some parents have asked me if they can share the experience with their children. If you would like to please can you mention it to myself or Mr Laker and we will see what we can organise if enough people are interested.

Enjoy the Weekend,

Mr James Freeston
