Head of School Weekly Update – 21st November 2014

This week we held our open days for parents with children who will be starting school in September. Our pupil ambassadors from years five and six represented the school fantastically when they were conducting tours and answering questions. Please read the positive comments on our Facebook page from parents who attended the open days. I have already thanked the ambassadors for the great job they did and they will be getting a special mention in assembly on Monday!

Eagles, Hawks and Kestrels have really enjoyed their visits to Bodiam Castle this week and have been working hard in school, before and after the visit, on designing their own castle. They have been using their measuring skills and understanding of scale to produce designs that will start to be built next week. The photo below shows year five enjoying themselves yesterday at Bodiam.

This week I have been talking to children and teachers about our new homework policy. Thank you to the vast majority of children who have completed their homework and returned it at the correct time. Please continue to help support learning by getting involved with homework and discussing any difficulties with your child’s class teacher.

Next week our ambassadors will be busy again as we welcome Heidi Brown, who is the new Principal of Bexhill High, for a tour of King Offa along with visitors from Saudi Arabia who are interested in seeing really good nursery and early years provision.

Enjoy the weekend,

James Freeston
